According to the Downtown Dartmouth Plan, the vision for Downtown Dartmouth continues to be that it is an attractive and safe community with a lively business district, quiet and stable neighbourhoods, and an accessible and beautiful waterfront for all to enjoy.


District 5 is where you'll find Dartmouth Centre, an area that includes Downtown Dartmouth, vibrant residential neighbourhoods, commercial and shopping areas. The area is made up of “Old Dartmouth” including North Woodside, Crichton Park, Manor Park, Southdale, and part of Dartmouth North as well as newer areas such as Lancaster Park. District 5 has a population of approximately 26,400 residents.
